For the Blue Condor project, a research initiative on contrail formation led by Airbus Operations France SAS, B&B-AGEMA developed a turbojet engine combustion chamber capable of 100% hydrogen combustion. The project results including the first Blue Condor flight tests were presented in a paper at this year’s ISABE conference in Toulouse.
B&B-AGEMA will be presenting a paper on the potential of Oxide-Oxide Ceramic-Matrix-Composits (CMCs) in gas turbines at this years ASME Turbo Expo in London.
In November 2023, B&B-AGEMA was a speaker at the IGTC about the topic: Numerical Investigation of Application of MicroMix Combustion Technology to Aero Engine Combustor

We are very pleased that we have been awarded the German Gas Industry Innovation Prize 2022 in the “Efficient Application Technology” category for the H2 Micromix burner project!
Watch this webinar to learn how B&B-AGEMA use conjugate heat transfer CFD simulations to predict heat transfer coefficients during the start-up phase of steam turbines. These are essential to accurately predict metal temperature distribution, required for thermal stress analyses and lifetime assessment.
Everyone who ever planed or executed a temperature measurement in a real gas turbine knows that this is a real headache. That's why we are currently developing a new temperature measurement system.

Take a look at the photo-collage of our steam turbine design group, demonstrating the wide range of multiphase flow models in STAR-CCM+ applied in the design and improvement of modern low-pressure steam turbines! Also, check out our recently published paper about droplet-film interaction.
Around the world, companies are preparing their machines for large-scale but also decentralized electricity generation via hydrogen combustion in modern gas turbines. Quickly, they were able to fire up to around 30%vol H2 with only minor adjustments. Find out more about our Micromix technology in our latest LinkedIn post!
